No.1 Japanese Eats for the Hot Summer Time

For the season of hot summer like this we crave to eat something cooling. Somen is Japanese noodle made of wheat flour and salts, which is very thin and white. Slurping this cold Somen noodles dipped in tsuyu makes your body feel a lot cooler in this hot and humid weather in Austin!

What to buy :
Somen noodles
Men-tsuyu (dipping sauce base)
Shiso leaves (optional)
Wasabi paste (optional)
Chopped green onions
Grated ginger

Preparation (for two):
Boil a large pot of water and cook 4 bundles of Somen noodles until soft.
Drain and wash them in cool running water with colander.

Prepare about 1.5oz of Men-tsuyu in a cup and add 2oz of cold water to dilute for dipping sauce.

Add small portions of grated ginger, finely cut green onions and Shiso leaves in the dipping sauce and enjoy the Somen noodles! Adding wasabi gives you an extra punch.
