Chiaki Tomii, Lic.Ac. Dipl.OM offers professional, gentle and caring Holistic Healthcare services in Austin TX. She specializes in family medicine, which includes Pain Management and Women’s Health, and is able to treat a wide variety of common medical conditions. Her primary goal is to support families and individuals who seek a holistic model of healthcare. Chiaki is licensed by the Texas Medical Board as well as Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, and began studying Japanese Acupressure and Oriental Medical Theory in 2001 at Boston Shiatsu School. As a Zen Shiatsu therapist she found profound benefits in Acupressure Meridian Therapy, she sought to pursue further and deeper understandings in Oriental Medicine. Between 2004 to 2014, she apprenticed with a Japanese Master Acupuncturist, Kiiko Matsumoto, Lic.Ac., a former lecturer of Acupuncture for Physicians Course at Harvard Medical School, Cambridge, MA before moving to Austin.
After 8 years of practice in Boston, Chiaki now lives in Austin and focuses on helping patients to restore health and harmony by integrating traditional medical practices with modern medicine. Her primary goal is to help keep families healthy naturally as she tailors and individualizes steps of treatments to each, and treat the illness at root level in addition to the symptom itself. She earned her Master’s Degree in New England School of Acupuncture, Newton, MA and was nominated for the Compassionate Healer Award in memory of Peter Faust. Chiaki has practiced acupuncture in a number of settings including Mount Auburn Hospital (Cambridge, MA), HIV and AIDS Clinic, Dimock Hospital, Detox Wellness Center, as well as her private clinic. She is a member of the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
